Flagstaff Foster Care Licensing
Our Flagstaff team helps qualified individuals and couples become licensed foster parents. Our case managers facilitate the initial training and continue to provide ongoing training, resources and support. We recruit and support foster parents, therapeutic foster parents and kinship foster parents. Learn More

Catholic Charities has multiple programs that serve to strengthen families and cultivate parenting skills so parents can create a safe environment for their children. The Arizona Department of Child Safety refers parents to our Family Connections, Nurturing Parenting, Arizona Families F.I.R.S.T (Families in Recovery Succeeding Together) and SENSE (Substance Exposed Newborn Safe Environment) programs
Homelessness in Flagstaff
Catholic Charities is committed to helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness find affordable, stable housing. Our team helps veterans and their families, people with severe mental illness and others who need shelter.
In addition to emergency shelter, we deliver supportive housing programs to qualifying households, including families and individuals. We offer multiple long term housing assistance to meet the varied needs of our community members, all programs include ongoing case management with financial assistance as we are committed to long-term solutions.
Homeless Outreach
Flagstaff’s beautiful weather can turn deadly during winter blizzards. The Catholic Charities Homeless Outreach Team searches for unsheltered persons to get them into life-saving shelter. If individuals refuse to move to a shelter, our team will distribute winter survival gear.
Winter isn’t the only time our team is active. Our PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness) program searches for these vulnerable persons wherever they are—on the streets, under bridges, in tunnels or out in the deserts and forests. This team works to identify seriously mentally ill persons experiencing homelessness and engage them with resources, services and treatment opportunities while treating them with dignity and compassion.

Community Re-Entry
Fresh starts are important to the Catholic Charities team. Our Community Re-Entry program provides safe, affordable, temporary group housing for those who have had justice system involvement and need help getting their lives turned around. Each resident contributes to house chores while they strive to improve their situation by finding employment, and, if applicable, attending substance abuse support groups, and checking in with their probation officers. Catholic Charities’ compassionate team members offer support and resources.
Veterans Services
Catholic Charities Veteran Services in Flagstaff helps veterans and their families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness find stable housing and provides ongoing case management that includes financial planning, assistance applying for VA benefits, emergency assistance and more. Joining Hearts – Pregnancy Counseling
Our 24/7 pregnancy hotline is staffed by our compassionate pregnancy specialists help women and couples statewide to explore life-affirming birth options for their pregnancies. The Joining Hearts team is committed to helping women understand the facts about parenting, adoption, adoption law, birth parent rights and more to help them make the best plan for themselves and their child. Catholic Charities offers private adoption services for Arizona families who wish to open their hearts and homes to grow their family through adoption.
